Radisson Collection Muscat, Hormuz Grand
Hormuz Grand earns its place on our list by doing almost everything at once: five...
Radisson Blu Hotel, Muscat sits on Al Kuleiah Street in Al Khuwair, in the heart of the city's commercial and diplomatic district, with 153 rooms spread across superior, executive and suite categories. The hotel dates to 1999 and was renovated in 2011, old enough to have grown proper gardens around its pool rather than the newly planted landscaping of a first-year property, and that maturity is the thing that sets its grounds apart from the district's newer towers.
We added this hotel because it commits to its pool and garden rather than treating them as an afterthought to a lobby and a gym. Olivo's restaurant runs along a shaded terrace that looks directly over the gardens and the water, and three separate bars give guests a genuine choice of evening rather than a single hotel lounge: O'Malley's Irish pub for something livelier, the poolside Lazy Lizard for something slower, and a garden bar for in between. A complimentary daily shuttle to Muttrah Souq is a small but real convenience, the kind of detail that saves a taxi booking rather than just sounding generous on a website.
Al Khuwair places the hotel among Muscat's commercial and diplomatic offices, a practical base for business travellers, while Shatti Al Qurum's beach is about five minutes away for anyone who wants sand after a day of meetings. Seeb International Airport is roughly ten minutes further, close enough for an early flight without an overnight near the terminal. Muttrah Souq and the old harbour sit further along the coast, reachable by the hotel's own shuttle rather than requiring a taxi each way, which makes the location work equally well for a short business trip or a few days split between the city and the beach.
Price: €€
Vibe: established garden-and-pool hotel, commercial district, understated rather than flashy
Rooms: 153 rooms across superior, executive and suite categories
Best For: business travellers who still want a proper pool, short stays near the airport, beach days at Shatti Al Qurum
Our Favorite Thing About the Hotel: the shaded terrace at Olivo's overlooking the gardens and pool
Dining: Olivo's restaurant, O'Malley's Irish pub, the poolside Lazy Lizard bar, a garden bar and coffee shop
Amenities: landscaped outdoor pool, Fontana Health Club with gym, sauna and steam room, event space including a garden venue
Attractions: Shatti Al Qurum beach nearby, Muttrah Souq via complimentary shuttle, Qurum National Park a short drive away
The spread of dining and drinking options is wider than most hotels this size attempt: two restaurants plus three distinct bars, each with a different mood, from an Irish pub to a quiet poolside spot. That range means a week-long stay does not mean eating in the same room every night, a small thing that matters more than it sounds on a business trip without much time to explore the city. The daily shuttle to Muttrah Souq extends the same logic outward, giving guests an easy way to see the old harbour and its market without planning a taxi both ways.
The outdoor, temperature-controlled pool is wrapped in landscaped gardens mature enough to give real shade, a setting the hotel also uses for events: the Pool Garden space can hold several hundred guests for a reception, turning the same grounds guests swim in by day into a venue by evening. The Fontana Health Club adds a gym, sauna and steam bath for a more conventional wind-down, but it is the garden and pool together that give the property its character, a resort-style centre inside a hotel built primarily for business.

We added this hotel because it does something most business-district properties in Seeb don't bother...
We chose this address because it is, quite simply, where Oman's hotel story begins: InterContinental...
