Radisson Collection Muscat, Hormuz Grand
Hormuz Grand earns its place on our list by doing almost everything at once: five...
Royal Tulip Muscat rises over Al Ghubra, inland from the coast, in a neighbourhood built for offices and shopping rather than beach clubs. At the top, Sama Lounge trades the standard hotel bar for a wraparound rooftop terrace over the skyline, mocktails included, which already tells a visitor this isn't a hotel built purely for the nine-to-five. Below it, the dining runs through Wave Restaurant's all-day Omani, Middle Eastern and international menu and the simpler pull of Ristretto Café for a coffee between meetings, with both rooms styled to the same refined, faintly Omani palette the hotel uses throughout.
We liked this address for the contrast between its business-hotel bones and the details that go further: a second, rooftop pool alongside the ground-floor one, a spa for guests who'd rather not drive to one, and suites that go well past the usual upscale ceiling, up to a 110 sq m Presidential Suite with its own sitting room. It's a hotel built to work equally for a conference delegate and a family stopping in Muscat for a few days, which is rarer than the brand name alone suggests, and it keeps that promise through genuinely varied room stock rather than a single upgraded suite shown in the photos.
Al Ghubra puts the hotel inland from the beach resorts, but close to what travellers actually come to Muscat to see: the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is under two kilometres away, and Oman Avenues Mall barely ten minutes on foot, so sightseeing and errands both happen without a taxi. Muscat International Airport is about twelve kilometres, a drive of under twenty-five minutes, which keeps the hotel realistic for a short stay as well as a longer one, and convenient for a delegate flying in for a single day of meetings.

The room grid runs from a 21 sq m Superior Single through Deluxe doubles at 33 sq m to an Executive Suite at 55 sq m, a Deluxe Suite at 70 sq m, and the Presidential Suite's 110 sq m, each step adding genuine living space rather than just a different colour scheme. It's the kind of range that lets a single hotel serve a solo business traveller one week and a family wanting a proper sitting room the next, without switching address, and it means a longer stay can move up a category instead of moving hotels entirely.
The hotel's conference and event spaces are built for modular use, from a small meeting room to venues sized for a wedding, with the kind of up-to-date technology a serious conference crowd expects. Outside working hours, the same location puts the Grand Mosque's marble courtyards and the Avenues Mall's shops close enough to fill an afternoon without committing to a full day's sightseeing, a rare combination for a hotel built primarily around business travel, and one that rewards guests who arrive a day early or stay a day late around their meetings.

This hotel made our list because it still does the understated, garden-wrapped resort feel that...
We added this hotel because it does something most business-district properties in Seeb don't bother...
